Guided start

Open in Grafaris

The guided start is a short tour on your own project. It ends when your AI has answered your first comment with a design.

The tour starts by itself the first time you open a project. You can skip any step. To start it again later, click Learn in the top bar and pick Guided start.

A button that glows opens a short explanation on the first click. Close it and click the button again. The page "Discovery mode" explains why.

The tour first asks one question: do you want to start an app from scratch, or use an app you already have?

Start an app from scratch

  1. Click New journey. A journey is one path a user takes through your app, screen by screen.
  2. The tour fills in a name. Change it if you like, and click Create empty board. You can leave the Base prompt empty here, because the next prompt describes the app.
  3. Copy the example prompt the tour shows you.
  4. Open your AI, start a new chat, paste the prompt and send it. Your AI draws the first screens onto the board.
  5. Wait until the first screen shows up. This usually takes a few minutes. The tour moves on by itself. If nothing shows up, check that your AI is connected (see "Connect your AI").

Use an app I already have

This path needs an AI that works with files on your computer, such as Claude Code. The Claude app and ChatGPT cannot do it. If someone else wrote your app, ask them to run this step.

  1. Start Claude Code in the folder that holds your app's code.
  2. Copy the prompt the tour shows you. It looks like this:

  1. Paste it into your AI and send it. Your AI finds every path through your app. It shows you the list once and asks you to confirm it.
  2. Wait until the screenshots show up. For a big app this takes a while. The tour moves on by itself.

Both paths end the same way

  1. Click Comment (C) at the top, then click the spot on a screen you want to change.
  2. Write what should change and press Enter.
  3. Copy the prompt the tour shows you, paste it into your AI and send it:
Do my Grafaris comments on My Project.
  1. Watch the board. Your AI replies to your comment and puts a new design on the screen.

In every prompt, put your own project name in place of "My Project". It shows at the top of the left bar.
